Service Design Manager

Who We AreBy joining our project, you will be working on an initiative of the European Commission focused on creating a more efficient, modern and secure customs environment within the European Union. Being part of this initiative set on a 5 years’ timeline, you will have the opportunity to work on topics such as digitalization of customs processes, streamlining customs procedures to facilitate trade and reduce costs, harmonization of customs rules across all EU member states and combating fraud.This purposeful project will not only give you the opportunity to have an impact on one of the key topics within the European Union, it will also offer you various professional opportunities, let you experience a collaborative environment, using cutting-edge technologies and experiencing diversity in your everyday professional life.What You’ll Be DoingDesigning and developing IT services focused on infrastructure and cloud technologies, ensuring alignment with business requirements, scalability, security, and regulatory standardsLeading service design efforts, collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and define service specificationsDeveloping service design packages, including architecture, processes, and performance metricsIntegrating cloud services (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS) with on-premises infrastructure and managing hybrid cloud environmentsEnsuring security compliance in service designs, incorporating protective measures, conducting risk assessments, and developing mitigation strategiesDesigning scalable services to optimize performance, enhance efficiency, and ensure high availability and reliabilityCreating and maintaining detailed documentation for all service designs, preparing and presenting reports on activities and outcomesCollaborating with IT and business teams to align service designs with organizational goals, facilitating workshops for feedback, and communicating updates to stakeholdersIdentifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing industry best practices to foster continuous improvementUsing Dell EMC, HPE Servers, NetApp, HDS, Brocade for managing data storage and server environmentsUsing Cisco, Juniper Networks, Palo Alto Networks for designing and managing network infrastructuresUsing VMware for optimizing resource usage and deploying virtualized environmentsUsing Microsoft Azure, AWS for leveraging scalable and flexible cloud computing resourcesUsing EMC Networker, Veeam, Commvault for ensuring data protection and business continuity through backup and recovery solutionsUsing Fortinet, Check Point, Splunk for safeguarding networks, systems, and data with security toolsUsing ServiceNow, Dynatrace, Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds for monitoring and managing system performance and availabilityWhat You’ll Bring AlongBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferredMinimum 10 years of experience in IT service design or a related role, preferably within a regulatory or international organizationITIL certification is highly desirable. Relevant certifications in cloud and infrastructure technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect) are a plusStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency in service design and architectureAbility to work collaboratively with cross-functional teamsStrong organizational and project management skillsDeep knowledge and understanding of service design principles and infrastructure and cloud technologiesAbility to convey complex information clearly and effectivelyCollaboration: Working effectively with diverse teams and stakeholdersAdaptability: Adjusting to changes and new requirements in a dynamic environmentIdeally, IT Infrastructure and ITIL know-howExcellent command of both spoken and written English
