This is a remote position. The Session Monitoring Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring that every tutoring session at Naijatutors Konnect reflects our commitment to excellence, professionalism, and measurable learning outcomes. The officer actively monitors live and recorded sessions, validates session data, manages real-time communication, and produces detailed analytical reports on session quality.This role requires critical observation, sound judgment, and the ability to evaluate sessions based on quality assurance indicators — including tutor strategy, learner engagement, class setup, and follow-up effectiveness. Core Responsibilities 1. Resumption ActivitiesAt the start of each monitoring cycle, the officer ensures that the day’s session records are accurate, complete, and ready for oversight. Key actions include: Identifying and updating new, missing, or cancelled classes daily Verifying session settings such as timing, tutor allocation, and learner assignments. Ensuring that all reports from previous sessions have been submitted. Sending reminders to tutors with pending session reports and escalating substandard or incomplete reports to the relevant supervisors. Reviewing a minimum of three session recordings daily to assess quality, instructional delivery, and learner engagement. Submitting a comprehensive, evidence-based quality assurance report, detailing observations, strengths, and areas for improvement. 2. Pre-Session ActivitiesBefore sessions begin, the officer ensures all communication and schedule data are accurate and up to date. Key actions include: Confirming attendance ahead of scheduled sessions Informing tutors of any cancelled sessions and ensuring the class is cancelled promptly. These steps ensure clarity for all stakeholders and prevent communication errors before live sessions commence. 3. Live Session Activities During live teaching hours, the officer provides real-time oversight to maintain teaching quality, punctuality, and responsiveness. Key actions include: Allocating monitoring tasks based on tutor-related or learner-related priorities. Participating in the live session monitoring conference call via Zoho Cliq. Troubleshooting Prioritizing delayed sessions: sending the “delay” template to parents, investigating tutor availability, and communicating the decision transparently to both parties. Handling learner absences by calling parents, confirming reasons for lateness, and coordinating with tutors for next steps. Entering all live sessions consecutively to assess audio-visual quality, classroom setup, engagement level, and use of materials. Managing sessions and any technical issues — sharing links, monitoring continuity, and documenting observations. 4. Post-Session Activities After the live cycle, the officer focuses on validation, documentation, and follow-up actions to maintain quality and accountability. Key actions include: Confirming that tutors gave appropriate assignments or reports to learners. Escalating any red flags, performance gaps, or recurring issues to appropriate supervisors Marking sessions conducted and correcting any tutor rate discrepancies. Preparing reminder templates and pre-session data for the next day’s classes. RequirementsAnalytical & Reporting ExpectationsBeyond task execution, the Session Monitoring Officer must demonstrate strong analytical skill and report-writing ability. Each submitted report should: Present a structured and professional summary of observations. Cover all critical quality areas — setup, engagement, tutor strategy, learner focus, and follow-up. Reflect a deep understanding of Naijatutors’ quality assurance standards. Provide balanced, evidence-based conclusions supported by examples or timestamps. Offer actionable recommendations aligned with organizational expectations. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Education, Administration, or related field. Proven teaching experience is a bonus Excellent observation, analytical, and report-writing skills. Proficiency in MeritHub and Zoho applications (Desk, Sheet, Cliq). Availability of strong network and power sources Strong verbal and written communication ability.
