Playcentre seeks to empower whānau and tamariki to work, play, learn and grow together, and today has over 400 centres nationwide.About The RoleThe Session Support Worker supports parents, caregivers and whānau during Playcentre sessions, helping sessions run smoothly and ensuring children’s needs are cared for. This role models Playcentre philosophy and best practice while empowering parents in their role as Kaiako.Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited ToEncourage children’s curiosity, creativity, and confidence through play.Role model and promote Playcentre Aotearoa’s unique philosophy and values.Work alongside parents to plan and facilitate fun, meaningful, and safe sessions.Support parents in recognising and celebrating children’s learning and development.Foster collaboration, connection, and participation among whānau.Position detailsRole will commence 1 December 2025You will be based at Feilding Playcentre.This is a permanent part-time position, 8 hours per week on Mondays and Tuesdays from 9:00am – 1:00pm.Click here to view or download the full Position DescriptionAbout YouThe Ideal Candidate will hold a Playcentre Course 3 qualification or higher Early Childhood Education qualification along with the following.Have a strong understanding of Te Whāriki and a commitment to Playcentre’s philosophy.Be confident in supporting and empowering parents, whānau, and caregivers in their role as Kaiako.Bring great communication, teamwork, and time management skills.Hold a current First Aid Certificate or be willing to obtain one.Be organised and able to keep clear, accurate records.Be open to ongoing learning and professional development, including new Playcentre qualifications.Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.How To ApplyWe encourage interested applicants to apply now using the button below, as we will be reviewing applications as we receive them.
