This role reports to the Porvoo Plant ManagerThe responsibility of the position is to improve the culture of prevention, including but not limited to the following:Lead the implementation of the 20 Principles (Process & Behaviour Safety program), “Life Saving Rules”, Company Guidance Notes and SHE Policies to improve safety and identify and minimize all risks.Lead the program BBS (Behavioural Based Safety) to improve participation in Safety of all employees and identify and minimize risks and risk behaviour using the tools available.Manage the incident reporting system (Product Suite) and follow-up of actions.Participate in all RCA (Root Cause Analysis) for all SHE related incidents.Direct and supervise the emergency plan of the plant.Check and monitor the use of PPE, and other safety equipment.Control activities of contractors at the plant and its compliance with SHE standards.Be responsible for environmental management of the plant including all aspects of it (studies, wastes, etc.).Check if operations of the plant are in accordance with environmental laws and regulations and health and safety at work.Prepare reports for the authorities (e.g. environmental reporting).Organize and participate on SHE Committee.Develop and implement the relevant procedures and / or instructions from SHE.Ensure appropriate training of Finn personnel & contractors in SHE aspects.Define and manage the SHE budget (including environmental studies, PPE, uniforms & waste management).Participate on definition and implementation of SHE related capex.In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the followingLevel Of Education & Experience In GeneralBSc/MSc level degree in suitable area (e.g. chemistry, environmental engineer or equivalent).Preferably experience in a responsible position in the SHE department in industry.Preferably experience in implementing risk reduction programs and improving behavior-based safety.Finnish is a must and good level of English. Shall attend meetings of international SHE where English is the language used. All Company guidance notes are in English. All reports are in English.Preferably some experience in using databases and SAP.Behavioural SkillsStrong communication and interpersonal skills.Practical thinking is a must.Able to work in a demanding environment in terms of safety requires rapid actions.The ability to work closely with other departments throughout the plant.ALTA Performance Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
