Job DescriptionResponsible for working closely together with cardiac surgeons; operate and maintain Extracorporeal Circulation Systems during cardiac operations.
Responsible for related duties including Counterpulsation, Hemofiltration and AutotransfusionResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities of the role Corresponding Key Activities performed by the roleOperating the Heart Lung Machine and Performing Related DutiesCoordinating and participating in the set up and operation of extracorporeal circulation to achieve conditions ordered such as bypass, coronary perfusion and reperfusion in handling patients’ vital circulatory functions during surgeryMaintaining continuous supply of blood in the extracorporeal system and make adjustments to change blood content, temperature or balance as directedPerforming other related duties incidental to the work described herein (e. g.
Counterpulsation, Hemofiltration, Autotransfusion)Maintenance of EquipmentSupervising and participating in the disassembly, cleaning and routine maintenance of equipment to ensure proper functioningMaintaining inventory of supplies and equipment; reorder as requiredDocumentation Preparing and maintaining records regarding to functioning of equipment and procedures performedSEHA Compliance guidelines Corresponding Activities performed by the roleComplying with Policies, Procedures and Practices of the SEHA facilities and other regulatory requirementsComplying consistently with facility policies, procedures and practices and ensuring alignment with SEHA facilities policiesCompleting and maintaining regulatory requirements including:

Bachelor degree in Cardiac Perfusion/ BSC in a science subject plus a post graduate diploma/ certificate in Perfusion. AND Current national license, registration with the society of Perfusionist of Great Britain and Ireland. Or the European Board of Cardiovascular Perfusionion .
