Job Description

Job DescriptionSheladia Associates is seeking a professional International Social Safeguards Specialist to join our team for a road project in Guyana. Individual will support our Client for the Design Review and Construction Supervision Consultancy Services on a road improvement project using Design - Build and Civil Works Construction modes during the Construction and Design period.

Duties will includeReview and approve the Contractors’ Environment and Social Management Plans (C-ESMPs), including all updates and revisionsReview the monthly progress report furnished by the Contractors and provide feedback and ensure compliance with ESA/ESMP, IDB’s ESPF (2021), and national law and propose any corrective actions, as neededProduce progress reportsQualificationsBachelor’s Degree in social sciences or a related field7 years of general experience and at least 5 years of experience in the sectorDemonstrated experience in participatory approaches and community development, consultation, grievance mechanisms as well as the current environmental and social policies and procedures of multilateral funding agencies (WB, IADB, ADB etc)Must have successfully completed at least two (2) projects of a similar nature as Social Safeguards Specialist.

Prior work experience in Guyana or other Caribbean/ Latin American countries is preferable. Must be fluent in both spoken and written English language. Additional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
