The In-House Operations Manager will coordinate and direct the internal operations of Shepard's branch, including warehouses, drapery, carpet, freight, maintenance, and specials. This position will oversee equipment needs and maintenance, budgeting and payroll, staff training, and lead planning meetings to maintain a safe, organized, and cost-effective workplace. Key Contributions of the RoleOversee the loading and unloading of equipment across in-house departmentsMaintain accurate equipment inventories and coordinate swaps; collaborate with VP, Quality Control and Planning on equipment needs. Schedule daily assignments for in-house associates and drivers, monitoring labor costs to minimize overtimeEnsure compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations.
Train associates on Shepard policies, safety procedures, and best practices. Enforce compliance with safety rules and ensure associates maintain a clean and organized work areaEnsure all equipment and services meet quality standards and organize maintenance for rental and fleet equipmentManage departmental budgets, controlling equipment, and supply expendituresConduct weekly production planning meetings, documenting any notes and addressing pertinent issues. Adhere to payroll procedures and ensure accuracy for timecard coding and job costing.
