The role will ensure that project activities comply with international safety standards, environmental requirements, and social safeguards.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the implementation of Safety, Health, Environmental, and Social management frameworks for the project.Review contractor SHES plans and ensure compliance with project specifications and international standards.Monitor safety performance across construction sites, including underground, elevated, and depot facilities.Conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.Ensure environmental mitigation measures are implemented and monitored.Support reporting and compliance with client, regulatory, and international funding agency requirements.Guide project teams on safety and environmental best practices.RequirementsDegree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related discipline.Typically 15+ years of experience in SHES management for major infrastructure projects.Experience working on railway, metro, or large transport infrastructure projects.Strong knowledge of international health, safety, and environmental standards.Experience supporting construction supervision or engineering consultancy projects.Professional certifications in health and safety management will be an advantage.Why Join SMEC?Join a global, multidisciplinary consultancy shaping sustainable, people-centric environments across 40+ countries.
