Job Description
The Shipbuilding Carpenter works on FRP/Fiberglass vessel construction, preparing wooden bases, molds, and interior furniture. This includes making support structures for composite molds and installing interior parts such as panels, doors, and cabinets according to ship drawings and quality standards.Key Responsibilities:Build wooden bases, frames, molds, and jigs for composite ship construction.Cut, shape, and assemble wood materials using hand and power tools.Install interior furniture and fittings (walls, floors, ceilings, cabinets, etc.).Repair or adjust wooden or composite components when needed.Keep the work area clean and follow all safety rules in the shipyard.Work with other teams such as fiberglass and outfitting departments.Qualifications:High school or vocational certificate in Carpentry or related field.2+ years of experience in shipbuilding or composite/fiberglass carpentry.Can read and follow technical drawings.Skilled in using carpentry tools and machines.Careful, precise, and able to work in a team.Fit to work in a shipyard environment and willing to work overtime if required.
