We value integrity, responsibility, and innovation, key elements that enable us to successfully meet the challenges of the global market and contribute to the sustainable development of the maritime sector.Who we are looking for:We are looking for a Shipping Legal Specialist to join our legal department in Lugano. The ideal candidate will have a background in maritime law, shipping practice, with good expertise in managing disputes and claims arising under Charterparties, Bills of Lading, laytime, demurrage, and other related shipping contractual matters.Key ResponsibilitiesHandle legal and commercial disputes related to Charterparties, Bill of Lading, laytime and demurrage, cargo claims.Provide post-fixture assistance and support to chartering and operations teams. Review, draft and negotiate shipping contracts and related documentation.Manage and coordinate claims handling, including claim preparation, assessment, negotiation, and settlement.Oversee credit recovery processes and pursue outstanding receivables.Liaise with external legal counsel, P&I Clubs, brokers, and clients as necessary.Monitor contractual compliance and mitigate potential risks in chartering and post-fixture activities.Requirements:Mandatory 2-3 years of relevant experience in a similar position within the shipping or maritime legal sector;Good knowledge of maritime law and chartering practices;Good contract review and drafting skills;Fluent in English (both written and spoken); additional languages are a plus;Highly analytical perspective, strong computer literacy, and the ability to thrive under pressure in a dynamic environment;Proactive and detail-oriented approach with the ability to work in a team under supervision of the General Counsel.What We OfferCompetitive salary aligned with experience, plus potential performance-based bonuses.A dynamic and stimulating work environment within an international team.Opportunities for professional growth and continuous learning.Full-time, on-site role in our Lugano office.If you’re excited to contribute to a fast-growing organization and have the skills we’re looking for, we’d love to hear from you.
