LocationMaryville, TNShift1st ShiftScope of jobPerform live-fire test and evaluation of all Smith & Wesson firing barrels, actions, and/or fully-functioning firearms using either a shooting fixture or range setting. Hourly wage starts around $20/hr.Education and ExperienceHigh School/GED preferredPrior experience working in a manufacturing environment preferredLaw Enforcement or Military experience preferredPrior safe firearm handling/shooting experienceAbility to demonstrate proficiency with all firearms with little to no initial trainingCompetencies and SkillsAppropriate training and experience to fulfill all requirements of work duties described aboveMust be able to communicate in English verbally and in writing (basic verbal instructions, simple written memos and instructions)Basic computer and keyboarding skills requiredActive FID/LTC preferredEssential Duties And ResponsibilitiesTesting and evaluating all S&W firearms to a set of quality standards established by the companyEvaluating function and targeting criteria for all S&W productsEvaluating accuracy of firearms using pass/fail criteriaFollowing a standardized process to safely test firearmsCompleting paperwork to track business metricsLogging pass/fail data for each firearm/serial number in a computerized data collection systemFollowing Lean initiatives and participating in continuous improvement activitiesPerforming serial number audits/counts as requiredMaintaining a clean work spaceWorking as a member of the shooting range staff to ensure high quality products reach our customersComply with range lead programNOTE: This list presents only the principal duties of the position and is not intended to be comprehensive. Work environment is similar to most manufacturing and distribution operations. May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting, continuous exposure to hot temperatures, may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards.The following Personal Protective Equipment is required: Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection required when on manufacturing floor.
