Jump in and join the ride!What You'll DoYou will utilize strong manufacturing engineering mindset and previous experience to take ownership of managing shop engineering (processes and personnel) in Paint Shop in Volvo Car Košice plant. You will be involved in the process design in line with the development of the shop vision for product and non-product projects, support production with first-line analysis, in line balancing, and introduction of new products/processes, while bearing responsibility for recruiting talents, and developing team competence that will live up to our standards in their everyday tasks. You will work closely with Paint Shop´s Production and Maintenance functions, be the Paint Shop representative in the cross-functional project teams together with Manufacturing Engineering (ME) and Logistics, while reporting to the Head of Paint Shop.In doing so, you will:Be responsible for line layout (including material facade, placement of tooling) in the project phase as well as in running operation, which is in line with our Safety, Quality, Volume, Cost, Ergonomics, and Environmental targets;Drive process improvements, cost reduction activities, and continuous improvement activities, support production in Kaizen Workshops/M3MU, and implement company initiatives;Update and distribute shop master data (e.g. Hours per Vehicle - HPV, Head Count - HC, Efficiency, OIS);Provide necessary input from running production during launch;Execute capacity investigations (CIR) based on requests from the Plant Business Office;Manage a team of specialists, oversee all aspects of people planning, organize their daily workflow, ensure accountability and continuous improvement, recognize achievements, and handle people issues;Communicate job expectations clearly, provide necessary instructions and feedback to team members;Provide training plans, develop know-how, coach, and execute trainings;Be a role model for Volvo Cars values, encourage speak-up culture, so your team can freely highlight problems, deviations, and opportunities to improve through potential solutions.What You'll BringSeveral years of previous working experience in a highly automated production environment OEM/Tier1, in engineering as well as managerial function, preferably in Paintshop or similar;Exceptional understanding of the manufacturing processes in Paintshop, 5S, Standard Work, Andon, and real-time production management;University education in Industrial, Mechanical/Mechatronic, Manufacturing, Automation, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, or related field;Ability to professionally communicate, verbally and in written form in English and preferably also in Slovak language;Flexibility, being able not only to work under an organization in a transformation period, or green-field project, but thrive in such a fast-paced environment;Demonstrated ability to work within a multinational team, influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization;Problem-solving and a continuous improvement mindset;People development abilities and coaching skills.Core Competencies:Collaborates: Builds strong partnerships to meet shared goals;Drives Results: Achieves consistent results, even in tough situations;Builds Trust: Gains confidence through honesty and integrity;Drives Engagement: Motivates people to achieve organisational objectives;Ensures Ownership: Holds self and others accountable;Builds Effective Teams: Fosters solid, diverse teams;Optimizes Work Processes: Focuses on continuous improvement.Compensation DataBase Monthly Salary (Gross) for this position starts from 3.300 EUR. The salary amount represents the minimum guaranteed amount of the basic salary component applicable to the job.
