About the RoleWe are seeking a passionate and flexible educator to join our Middle and High School faculty as an English Language Arts and Social Studies teacher. This role requires someone who is confident in teaching across the humanities and able to connect literature, writing, history, and civics in engaging and meaningful ways. The ideal candidate is prepared to deliver high-quality instruction aligned with the Common Core State Standards and to work collaboratively with colleagues to support a dynamic, project-based learning environment. Primary ResponsibilitiesTeaching & CurriculumTeach a full course load of Middle and/or High School ELA and U. S.
Social Studies classes, based on school needs and teacher strengthsPlan and deliver lessons that align with Common Core standards for ELA and support grade-level goals for U. S.
History, Civics, and other social studies disciplinesIncorporate reading, writing, speaking, and listening activities into instruction, with a focus on critical thinking and argumentationIntegrate primary and secondary sources in Social Studies instruction and support document-based analysis and historical inquiryUse a variety of assessment methods to track student progress and inform instructionStudent Engagement & SupportProvide clear, timely feedback to students to support growth in writing, reading comprehension, and historical analysisMaintain a classroom environment that is inclusive, respectful, and conducive to student learningCommunicate with students and families regularly about academic progress and classroom expectationsCollaboration & ProfessionalismWork closely with colleagues to align curriculum across grade levels and departmentsParticipate in regular team meetings, professional development sessions, and schoolwide initiativesContribute to the school community through events, clubs, or advisory programsIdeal CandidateWe’re looking for someone who:
Has experience teaching both English and Social Studies at the secondary levelValues interdisciplinary learning and knows how to make literature and history meaningful and relevant to studentsUnderstands how to scaffold complex reading and writing tasks for a range of learnersIs eager to build strong relationships with students and foster academic curiosity and confidenceMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Education, English, History, or a related fieldExperience teaching at the middle or high school levelFamiliarity with the Common Core State Standards for ELA and best practices in Social Studies instructionExperience using or willingness to learn digital learning platforms, including Google Workspace and other online tools for instruction and assessmentEligibility to Work in KoreaApplicants must currently hold one of the following:
