The roleA new opportunity has become available for a Trade Assistant / Maintenance professional to join our team in Christchurch. Report to the National Engineering Manager – NZ to support the team with plant and equipment maintenance, ensuring maximum efficiency and output of the yard. Your ResponsibilitiesParticipate in preventative and predictive maintenance programs for all plant, equipment and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Work diligently according to routine maintenance plans, accurately completing all relevant maintenance records. Assist production team members with their general duties as requiredEnsure all works are carried out in strict adherence to our site safety, environment, and quality standards.

Essential CriteriaExperience in a similar position with a flexible approach to working with operations and maintenanceA high attention to detail; you are motivated to achieve quality work in a safe mannerEffective communication skills and the ability to work autonomously or in a team environmentBasic understanding of the engineering processes, particularly in general Welding and Oxy cuttingDesirable CriteriaA Forklift ticket and/or Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) certificationExperience working with heavy engineering equipment, with a background in mechanical engineering, welding, and conveyor operations.
