Position SummaryWe are seeking a reliable and responsible Driver to support the day-to-day operations of our 24/7 Drop-In and Outreach programs.
This position plays a key role in ensuring timely delivery and transportation of food, supplies, and other essential items. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment, and contributing to the wider needs of our community-focused organization. This position is crucial in ensuring our daily services run smoothly and on time while supporting the agency's ability to reach vulnerable community members across the city.
Key Responsibilities Drive safely and follow all traffic laws and agency policies Conduct daily vehicle safety and cleanliness checks Clear snow/ice from the vehicle during winter months Report any incidents, accidents, or vehicle issues promptly Perform additional pick-up/drop-off tasks as needed by the program Pick up and deliver groceries and supplies for the Drop-In program Load and unload deliveries, including food, donations, and equipment Deliver prepared meals and materials to outreach locations across the city Assist with set-up and transportation needs for special events or community gatherings Drive organization-owned vehicles in a safe and responsible manner Support staff in moving or transporting items between program sites or partner agencies Maintain accurate delivery logs and schedules Other Duties As Assigned QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Valid Ontario G-Class Driver’s License with a clean driving record Comfortable driving in downtown Toronto and navigating various neighborhoods Physically able to lift and move boxes, supplies, and equipment as needed Experience in delivery, driving, logistics, or community support work is an asset Strong time management and organizational skills Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude Ability to work independently and take initiative Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends Familiarity with harm reduction and trauma-informed principles is an asset Compensation $20. 20 hourly Unionized Role Comprehensive Benefits Package including:
