Site Engineer – Electrical (LV & MV Services)

Job Description

ResponsibilitiesSite Execution & SupervisionPlan, coordinate, and supervise electrical works at site for LV & MV systems, including installation, testing, commissioning, preventive and corrective maintenance.Ensure all works comply with project drawings, specifications, and applicable standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, NEC, SEC).Review design drawings and identify technical issues, conflicts, or missing information.Supervise technicians and subcontractors to ensure quality, safety, and schedule adherence.Coordinate shutdowns and energization activities with clients and utility providers.B. LV & MV Scope of WorkLow Voltage (LV) Systems:Switchgear, MDBs, SMDBs, MCCs, PFC panels, VFD panels, synchronization panels, and control panels.Testing of protection relays, insulation resistance, contact resistance, continuity, and functionality.Load testing, power factor testing, harmonic analysis, and thermography.Troubleshooting and rectifying faults in control circuits, breakers, and power feeders. Medium Voltage (MV) Systems:MV switchgear, RMUs, transformers, and MV cables.Conducting primary and secondary injection tests, insulation tests, and functional interlock verification.Supervision of cable laying, jointing, and termination works as per standard practices.Coordination with utility (e.g., SEC) for testing, approval, and energization.C. Testing & Commissioning Perform or supervise FAT/SAT, functional testing, and commissioning of LV/MV systems.Prepare test reports and ensure all test instruments are calibrated and traceable.Support project handover documentation (test reports, as-built drawings, O&M manuals).D. Maintenance & After-Sales Services Execute preventive and corrective maintenance for LV & MV electrical systems as per OEM recommendations.Diagnose faults, propose solutions, and coordinate necessary repairs or replacements.Ensure service records and maintenance logs are properly maintained and updated.E. Documentation & Reporting Prepare daily site progress reports, test reports, and technical service reports.Monitor material and tool requirements and coordinate with the procurement team.Attend site coordination meetings and provide updates on progress and challenges.Job Requirements3. Qualifications & Experience:Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent).Experience: 2–5 years in LV & MV installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance.Certifications:SCE Accreditation.OSHA / NEBOSH / Safety certification (advantage).OEM training certifications (e.g., Schneider, ABB, Siemens) are a plus.Knowledge:Strong understanding of LV/MV systems, protection schemes, and control logic.Familiarity with IEC 61439, IEC 62271, and IEEE standards.Experience in relay testing, breaker maintenance, and system troubleshooting.Benefits:Salary (7000-9000) Basic.30 Days Annual Leave Medical Insurance Buba Class B+
