DescriptionLocation: Pacific RegionECC is seeking candidates for a Marine Construction Site Superintendent position in the Pacific Region (final location could be Guam, Yap, Tinian, Palau, Kwajalein or Diego Garcia). This position is primarily responsible for the implementation of field related policies, programs, and practices that support and advance the Company’s long-term business objectives.Coordinate with the Project Engineer, Health and Safety Officer, and Quality Control Officer for interaction of task prioritizationCompliance with health and safety and quality control requirements as identified by functional officersAssist and lead field sampling teams in achieving task requirementsKey implementers of field activities and tasks preparatory to field activitiesAssist in identifying and performing general labor tasks to achieve project objectives under the direction of the Project ManagerContribute methods of approach and identify solutions to logistical or operational challenges during mobilization, sampling, surveying, deconning, and general field operationsAssist in identifying task-specific equipment to achieve the objectives of a task. When appropriate, operate the equipment as needed during mobilization, sampling, surveying, deconning, and general field operationAssume the role of sample team lead to assist the quality control officer and health and safety officer in maintaining compliance with project work plans, standard operating procedures, and sound field practices while achieving project objectivesCoordinate with the project chemist, project engineer, and project geologist to prioritize field activities and identify task assignments.Monitor and ensure compliance with EPA and local marine regulations and guidelines Lead and develop marine equipment utilization and execution plansManage multiple marine handling crews including equipment barges, tenders, tugs, dredges, heavy lift cranes, land crews etc.In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this positionRequirementsProven ability to implement programs to address complex needs and problemsAbility to coordinate with staff on various task assignments and field activitiesKnowledge of federal contracting regulations and requirements5 years of progressively responsible experience on marine construction projectsBe a problem solver with ability to keep work on scheduleHigh focus on safety and environmental compliance in a marine environmentTravel: Must be able and willing to work on-site at project location with periodic travel home with project management approval. Five years supervisory experience leading multi-disciplinary teams with experience managing schedule and budget for large construction projectsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Construction Management or related field required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.Preferred QualificationsMaster’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Construction Management or related field requiredQualifications for working on/over water from relevant safety boardsExperience in marine construction methodsExperience in construction of wharfs, piers, or other over water concrete structures.Experience in marine piling utilizing auger or hammer driven steel caisson piles Experience in construction of pile caps and installation precast beams and precast slabs.Experience in marine dredging, ideally using mechanical excavation and /or cutter head dredging techniques.Experience in placing and constructing channel markers, maker foundations and supporting infrastructureExperience in construction mooring dolphins and mooring systems testing methods.Experience and ability to work with and manage work crews from differing cultural and geographical back grounds.ECC targeted salary range for US locations average is $120,000 to $135,000 annually.
