Job Description

As a member of the Project Delivery Team (PDT), the incumbent in this position provides site management services from inception to conclusion of the project and provides insight into design and constructability, while living and promoting Westcor’s values: Authentic, Accountable, Collaborative, Innovative, Helping Others, and Having Fun, doing amongst other things:Safety And QualityResponsible for implementation of safety program, hazard assessments, inspections, incident and accident investigations etc. and ensuring complianceOverall responsibility for ensuring that Westcor’s Quality standards are met throughout the projectResponsible for compliance with contract documents in regard to inspections and testingCommunicationLiaison between all key industry partners involved in the project (Client, Consultants, Trade Partners) and responsible for communication throughout the projectProvide to Project Manager/Project Coordinator summary of work for monthly project updates, which would consist of: Schedule update, Deliverables (shop drawing control), Photos, Budget update, Concerns, ConstraintsSchedule and participate (and act as rotating chair as applicable) in monthly “Project Success Self Evaluation” meetingsDeveloping and following up on Site initiated RFIsAssist Project Managers with site-changes and change orders by providing detailed costing inputFollow up weekly on constraints assigned to Superintendent that are in the Constraints LogConstruction Site ManagementResponsible for construction site management from start to finishResponsible for monitoring and steering overall project schedule on a day-to-day basis. Alert PDT to potential issues that may arise utilizing Last Planner System for schedule managementReview, understand and proactively manage the scopes of work within the contract documentsAccountable for ensuring productivity of Westcor crews completing Westcor self-performed workResponsible for Preventative Maintenance of tools and equipmentResponsible for coordinating mobilization (including set-up of Westcor trailer with required technology etc) and demobilization of construction siteParticipate in the selection, performance management, and termination of field site personnelResponsible for accuracy and submittal of weekly timesheetsResponsible for monitoring, updating, and review overall project resources, labour, equipment, and materialsResponsible for verification of invoices, labour quantities, packing slips of incidental site POsResponsible for completion and distribution of Daily Job LogsResponsible for Project Close-Out including final inspections, as-built drawings (gathering and capturing any changes in as-builts), deficiencies, warranty work and site demobilization in conjunction with the Project ManagerLiaising with building authorities and regulatorsMeetingsAssist Project Manager with coordinating commissioning meeting and developing a commissioning plan combined with Schedule (Testing, Equipment start-ups, Training, Turnover)Responsible to attend client meetingsResponsible for facilitating weekly Last Planner meetingsValidate and approval of Meeting MinutesProcurementParticipation in the Trade Award and Project Success processResponsible for following the Westcor Procurement Model for Project Delivery for site purchased materials and servicesAssist Pre-Construction when required with schedule development for future workFinancialReview and provide feedback to Project Manager on Trade Partners Monthly Progress BillsParticipate in monthly site WIP MeetingsInitiate documentation for cost recovery of back charge/s after advising TradesDesignParticipate in Design Meetings and provide constructive feedback and recommendations with regards to the constructability, flow of work and impact on the scheduleReview preliminary design drawings and ensure that they accurately capture the client’s needs and wants discussed during the Design MeetingsReview owner supplied equipment for compatibility with design and constructionReview shop drawings for accuracy coordination and constructabilityTurnoverCoordination and completion of any and all job deficienciesConduct internal walk-through in preparation for client turnoverConduct client review of workOversee completion of deficiency related work as necessaryManage completion of warranty work as necessaryMentorshipProvide support and guidance to junior roles within the PDTFoster an environment where learning is encouragedRecommend opportunities so that members of the PDT know of and value the expertise and skills within the teamRecommend opportunities for members of the PDT to work across programs to optimize the use of resources and achieve resultsEncourage a passion for work and a sense of teamMotivate members of the PDT to develop and exhibit a continuous improvement mindset and encourage junior roles to make recommendationsConduct PDCAs with direct reportsParticipation In Business Development EffortsParticipate in seeking out new opportunitiesAct as a Westcor Brand AmbassadorPlease note: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the incumbent of this job.
