As part of this, we’ve introduced a new role: Site Support Officer.In this role, you’ll be the go-to person for keeping our DOC sites running smoothly and safely. Based in Franz Josef, and reporting to the Operations Advisor, you’ll provide essential administrative support across our three South Westland offices – Fox Glacier, Franz Josef, and Haast. Regular travel including fortnightly overnight stays in Haast (1-3 nights) means you’ll get to experience the full beauty of the District, while supporting our teams on the ground.What you’ll be doing:Supporting the District’s three Site Leads to ensure smooth and safe operation of DOC premises, acting as the main contact for office and facility issuesBeing the go-to person for general office managementEnsuring DOC vehicles across the District are fit for purpose and maintained as required (such as services and WOFs etc)Supporting key site health and safety tasks as required such as safety/fire drills, site inductions, regular checks and ACC safety auditsClick here for the Role DescriptionNgā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experienceWhat we are looking for:Proven experience in a broad administration support, facility or fleet management roleA natural problem solver with strong organisational skills and attention to detailThe ability to manage multiple priorities with easeA confident communicator who enjoys building relationships and working collaboratively with a wide range of peopleSomeone who is passionate about conservation and contributing to DOC’s goalsTech-savvy and ready to help others embrace new systems and toolsA proactive approach to work with a continuous improvement mindset, always looking for more efficient ways to get things doneA valid driver’s licence (essential) and a current first aid certificate (desirable)Mō te tīma | About the teamYou will be joining a positive, enthusiastic team of over 30 permanent staff spread across three stunning locations, delivering conservation outcomes from the mountains to the sea.
