SLB is seeking an experienced Petrophysicist to support our operations in Benghazi, Libya. The role involves implementing formation evaluation and advanced petrophysical workflows to identify upside potential, solve complex technical challenges, and provide sound justifications for reserves booking — while capturing the full range of uncertainties. Key ResponsibilitiesPerform open and cased hole logs processing and interpretation. Analyze formation pressure data at well, field, and regional scales to assess fluid types, contacts, and pressure communication. Plan and manage routine and Special Core Analysis (SCAL) programs, integrating results with wireline logs. Build 1D to 3D petrophysical models to highlight hydrocarbon potential.
Interpret well testing and PTAs to calibrate reservoir and fluid interpretations. Deliver solutions for marginal and tight reservoirs to maximize hydrocarbon recovery. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to minimize formation damage and design stimulation programs. Conduct porosity, permeability, and saturation height modelling. Quantify uncertainties in petrophysical parameters for resource estimation. Integrate G&G and engineering data to optimize well planning and placement. Provide Pre/Syn/Post-drilling support for exploration wells. Apply core and thin-section analysis for petrophysical evaluation. Develop innovative formation evaluation techniques through scripting. Prepare and deliver technical presentations to peers and management. Demonstrate strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications & SkillsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geoscience, or related field. Proven track record in petrophysical analysis and formation evaluation.
