In the course of a year, we provide more than 3,000 children, ages 6 weeks through Pre-K with high-quality literacy and STEAM-infused learning; give 58,000 youth and teens access to sports, aquatics, day and resident camps, teen leadership development programs, and employment opportunities; provide over 200,000 members with programs, services, and facilities to enjoy connection and maintain wellness regardless of age; and engage over 25,000 volunteers and donors from across Atlanta to share in the gift of supporting their communities.  NATURE AND SCOPE:Reporting directly to the Vice President of Communications, the Social Media and Content Manager is a hybrid role responsible for developing, managing, and distributing engaging content across the YMCA of Metro Atlanta’s platforms. This position oversees the day-to-day operations of the YMCA’s organic social media channels, repurposes multimedia assets for cross-channel use, and collaborates with marketing and creative teams to support campaign integration and organizational storytelling. This role will play an integral part in expanding awareness of the Y’s impact in the communities we serve, retaining current members and program participants, and growing revenue channels.RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):Social Media Management:Own the day-to-day management of the Y’s organic social media calendar across all platforms, including scheduling, publishing, and community management.Travel to branch and early learning sitesContent Strategy:Plan and oversee production of content that aligns with brand voice, values, and strategic initiatives. Formats include social posts, videos, graphics, website content, and intranet content.Collaboration & Coordination:Work closely with the creative team (designers, video, and photo) to develop compelling content that supports both internal initiatives and external marketing campaigns.Work with senior leaders to integrate content into their professional networks and channels.Channel Optimization:Repurpose content across platforms (e.g., video to reels) to maximize reach and engagement.Campaign Integration:Collaborate with marketing team to ensure consistent messaging across paid and organic campaigns, tying into broader organizational goals and key initiatives.Community Engagement:Actively monitor social channels to respond to inquiries, escalate issues when needed, and maintain a strong, positive online presence for the Y.Analytics & Reporting:Track and report key performance metrics and strategic recommendations to leadership.Use data to inform and guide future content development.Training & Support:Provide guidance and training to internal partners and branch-level staff on content best practices and social media brand standards.REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related field and 3+ years of experience in content marketing, storytelling, and social media management, agency experience OR high school diploma and 5+ years in social media and content experienceStrong storytelling skills with demonstrated experience writing for multiple platforms and audiencesExperience working cross-functionally with creative and marketing teams, as well as freelance and contract vendorsProficiency in social media tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite), analytics platforms, and content management systemsFamiliarity with SEO, content repurpose strategies, and digital trends.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to thrive in a collaborative environment and manage multiple projects/programs of workPassion for the YMCA’s mission and the ability to translate complex community impact into compelling storiesMust have reliable transportation to travel to branch and early learning sitesMust pass background, BFTS, and motor vehicle record checkPREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s degree or higher5+ years of experience in content marketing, storytelling, and social media management, agency experienceNon-profit experienceWORK ENVIRONMENT & EXPECTATIONSHybrid work schedule with in-person meetings and occasional travel to YMCA branches for content collection and storytelling.Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to support key initiatives or capture timely content.Employment and Benefits package for this job posting is offered through the YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta, Inc.Employment Requirement: Ability to pass a pre-employment background check including Criminal Record check, Drug Screening and motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company policy.Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.This job posting is subject to change at any time.The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta offers excellent benefits and career opportunities as part of our culture of excellence.
