Job DescriptionAre you ready to shape global social media strategy?Join us as the Director of Social Media Strategy to lead an inspiring, future-proof ecosystem through strategic creativity and cross-functional collaboration.Core ResponsibilitiesDevelop and own global channel and platform strategies, tailoring approaches to each platform's unique culture and mechanics while clearly defining KPIs and success metrics. Continuously adapt strategies to reflect cultural shifts, platform updates, and audience behaviours.Lead the editorial vision and always-on ecosystem by owning a global framework for storytelling that ensures content is emotionally resonant, culturally relevant, and unmistakably LEGO. Maintain channel health through quality, consistency, performance, and brand coherence.Future-proof the social function by owning a learning agenda that anticipates platform innovations, creator economy shifts, innovative technology and cultural trends. Drive thought leadership to maintain LEGO as a benchmark in social creativity and strategic maturity, and guide holistic strategies across the ecosystem, including paid, earned, and social commerce.Own platform and partner relationships by leading senior-level engagements with key social platforms like Meta, TikTok, and YouTube. Shape joint roadmaps, early-access programs, and innovation pilots while acting as LEGO’s strategic voice in the platform ecosystem.Lead and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of curiosity, creativity, accountability, and experimentation. Coach future leaders, ensure strong succession planning, and deliver high-quality briefs.Serve as the strategic connector across Social, Brand Marketing, Product, PR, Creative, Media, and Digital, ensuring clarity of ownership and eliminating duplication. Establish Social as a strategic growth engine beyond a distribution channel.Play your part in our team succeedingGlobal Social Media is a critical component of the LEGO ecosystem, delivering Earned activations and support to reach our audiences. The team leads the global social media strategy and governs its implementation, accountable for performance, audience growth and channel health.This role is the strategic heartbeat of our global Social Media function. This role sets the North Star for how LEGO shows up on social platforms - defining channel strategy, editorial direction, and audience-first storytelling that builds long-term brand love, cultural relevance, and business impact.You will shape how we reach and grow our core audiences, and how our always-on ecosystem stays healthy, inspiring, and future-proof. This is a highly visible leadership role that blends strategy, creativity, people leadership, and deep cross-functional partnership.Do you have what it takes?Proven senior leadership experience in Social Media, Digital Strategy, or Editorial Leadership, with a strong focus on global brand storytelling and audience growth across major platforms (Meta, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).Proven skills in defining and operationalizing global social media strategies — including channel purpose, content ecosystems, and always-on editorial frameworks.Demonstrated people leadership, leading high-performing strategy and/or editorial teams, with a track record of coaching, capability building, and succession planning.Deep platform expertise and partner management experience, including senior-level relationships with social platforms and a strong understanding of platform innovation roadmaps.Strong cross-functional leadership, with experience partnering across internal teams to embed social into integrated campaign planning.Experience developing audience-first strategies that translate business and brand priorities into culturally relevant, social-first storytelling.Future-focused mindset, with experience building learning agendas, identifying emerging trends, and driving thought leadership in social media and digital culture.Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis.
