The Social Work Department at Canterbury Hospital is a team of 7 Social Workers providing a high standard of care to patients, families and carers under the care of Geriatric Medicine, Orthopaedic and General Surgery, General Medicine, Antenatal, Maternity, Paediatrics and Emergency Medicine.You will be working in a small, supportive department with a fun and positive team culture which values professional, personal and career developmentThe Social Worker Level New Graduate position is responsible for the provision of Social Work services to patients, families and carers, who are under the care of the inpatient teams. This is a rotational position, rotating every 6 months between General Medicine and Geriatrics and Orthopaedics. There are also frequent opportunities to broaden your skill development through coverage of, and shadowing within, Emergency Medicine, Violence, Abuse and Neglect, Paediatric Medicine and Women’s and Babies.The Social Worker New Graduate will have access to frequent informal supervision from more senior staff members, and may require direct professional support when performing novel, complex, or critical tasks.They will also participate in quality improvement activities, departmental committees and may be required to participate in clinical research activities.For more information, please view the Position DescriptionIdeal CandidateMust hold a Bachelor or post graduate degree in Social Work that provides eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.Demonstrated knowledge, skills and clinical experience in Social Work clinical practice.Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.Benefits and Perks!Accrued Day Off each month, paid Parental Leave & Annual Leave loadingOpportunity for extra tax savings through Salary Packaging and Novated Leasing.
