Run what runs the world.This Position reports to:Engineering ManagerYour Role And ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for a Software Engineer at ABB Oy Marine & Ports division, Marine Systems Service, Engineering team. Marine Systems Service delivers propulsion system modernizations, shore to ship connections, and energy storage systems for vessels. The engineering team assesses existing installations, proposes new solutions for lifecycle extensions, assists sales and, engineers state of art systems. The position requires international travelling including US, approximately 80 days per year. Position will be located in Vuosaari, Helsinki and while being in Finland flexible hybrid work model is followed.Your responsibilitiesOverall responsibility of control automation scope in service projects, for example modernizations of propulsion control system or electric energy storage systemPLC programming ABB 800M product family including 800xA integrated automation systemHMI engineeringAssisting in preparing functional description for application and other documentationClose co-operation with the project manager, lead engineer and HW engineerOnsite commissioning and acceptance testingFactory acceptance testing with customer and classification societySales support, for example defining technical scopesIn addition, service visits, remote support and fault tracingQualifications For The RoleRelevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degreeExperience of commissioning or engineeringStructured text PLC programming experienceElectric work certificate is an assetWillingness and ability to travel approximately 80 days per yearGood communication skillsFluent English skills are is mandatory, Finnish skills are is an advantageIdeally you have an understanding and knowledge of marine electric propulsion systems or marine power and energy management system with batteries and experience of ABB automation products, such as 800xA and 800M product familyKnowledge of old ABB automation products such as Selma, AC70, AC80 or AC110 is beneficialMore About UsAt ABB Marine & Ports, we are committed to transforming our customers' vessels and terminal operations with innovative electric, automated, and digital technologies.
