Software Engineer (C++/Java)

What we’re looking forAt Pi-xcels, our mission is to eliminate paper receipts and empower physical retailers to improve customer experience and retail performance via our e-receipt and analytics platform.We are looking for a software engineer comfortable with device-based software engineering to join our software engineering team full-time.As a Software Engineer in our pre-launched VC-backed startup, you will tackle exciting and meaningful roles of designing, developing and implementing our product and prototypes.ResponsibilitiesDevelop mobile/embedded applications and SDKs (software development kits) for payment devices running on a range of silicon platforms, mostly ARM/Android basedDesign, maintain, build, integrate and test software components according to the functional and technical design specificationsResearch, design & develop proof of concepts or prototypesContribute ideas for product improvements and iterationsApply and advocate relevant up-to-date technologies, tools and practices in Agile software developmentAdhere to high technical standards and good coding practicesKey QualificationsExperience in C/C++ and preferably one of the following: Java / RustKnowledge in security with authentication and authorization management, and encryption techniquesKnowledge in communication protocols (ISO/IEC14443, RNDIS, TCP/IP, MQTT, etc.) used in connectivity technologies such as NFC, USB, Bluetooth, WIFI, EthernetExperience working with resource-constrained IoT devices or payment devices is a bonusAble to communicate clearly and effectively in written and spoken EnglishCan work independently and enjoy taking initiativeHave a growth mindset and enjoy joining a fast-evolving company with fast-paced and dynamic startup environmentsEducation QualificationBachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Computer Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent and higherBenefits & CompensationOpen to occasional remote work and/or flexible hoursCompetitive salaryStock optionsAutonomy to explore various technology areas* Fresh graduates and interns are welcome to apply* Only open to Malaysian citizens and permanent residents* Kindly note that only shortlisted candidates will be notified
