Your Title: Software Engineer (early career)Job Location: Christchurch, NZOur Department: Geospatial (part of Trimble Field Systems)Take your career to the next level, join Trimble as an early career software engineer, developing a cross-platform application in an industry-leading global tech company!What You Will DoAs an early career Software Engineer within our Geospatial group, you will assist with the development of Trimble Access, the world's leading data collection software for land surveyors and civil engineers. Our customers build roads, railways, tunnels, bridges, and buildings, they subdivide the land and locate underground utilities.As part of our Christchurch-based development team, you will be involved in the development of an application that spans radio communications, geodetics, geometry, 3D visualisation, cloud connectivity, and much more. Development is cross-platform on Windows and Android.You will work in collaboration with the Product Manager, Applications Specialists, Engineering Manager, and other Software Engineers, both locally and in Trimble facilities worldwide.Daily, This Will Have You Doing The FollowingDevelopment in C++ & C# for a mobile environmentUnderstanding, analysing, designing, implementing, and testing new featuresAnalysing, fixing, and testing bugs.What you'll bring?SkillsAlong with being a motivated team player, with strong work prioritisation skills, and a collaborative communication and working style, you will also possess:BSc. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related degreeDemonstrable early career level experience as a software engineerExperience in applications development, ideally with strong C# & C++ skillsAbility to contribute and add value to this dynamic team environmentA desire to learn, a “can-do” attitude, and an open mindCuriosity and willingness to learnNice to haves (but not essential):Android development experienceKnowledge and experience with interactive/real-time application developmentExperience or interest in surveying, civil engineering or the geospatial industry.About Your LocationBased at Trimble’s NZ headquarters in Christchurch, New Zealand (handily located on the Little River Link Cycleway), home to over 300 Trimble employees, enjoy free parking, securely covered bike sheds, an onsite gym, showers, an active social club, and a great team environment where people love working with leading technology solutions.At Trimble, you'll find the inspiration and opportunity to be yourself and thrive.
