Software Engineer II - Python

Job DescriptionSoftware Engineer II is a critical role that will apply his/her knowledge and enable high performance web & API applications for data acquisition tools. We are looking for an individual who has previous design/development experience with large-scale production systems and/or web platforms with knowledge of the high availability of cloud-based applications. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced developer to join a group of skilled professionals and take ownership in the process.ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop high performance web systems, APIs and end-to-end data applications using pythonCollaborate with cross-functional business and technical teams equally effectively, to gather functional and non-functional requirements.Work in a dynamic, research-oriented team and collaborate with business, product management and application development teams.Be involved in all phases of the agile software development lifecycle.Engage in technical grooming discussions where you should be able to learn as well as contributeWrite well designed, testable, efficient codeProactively seek out and minimize pain points within the infrastructure and code baseKeep up to date with the latest technologies and introduce them as neededCreate next-gen solutions for unique and challenging use casesEnsure designs follow specificationsPrepare and produce releases of software componentsRecommend changes to improve established python application processesBe focused, passionate, and strive to find simple solutions to complex problemsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or a related subjectAt least 3+ years of industry experience of development experience in Python and good knowledge of AWS environment.Strong ability to build RESTful services in Python Flask or Django or FastApiHigh degree of hands-on proficiency in SQL and pythonStrong understanding of object-oriented programmingExperience working with Pandas, Numpy and Regular Expressions in PythonFamiliar with Pylint and PEP 8 Python development style guideKnack for writing clean, readable, and easily maintainable codeUnderstanding of fundamental design principles for building a scalable applicationProficient in implementing TDD unit testsProficient understanding of source code versioning using GITKnowledge of AWS services (AWS Lambda etc.)Problem-solving and result-oriented, analytical, organized, and proactive with attention to details, with minimal guidanceExperience with Agile methodologiesFamiliarity with DevOps practices and tools like Bamboo, Octopus, Docker, and CI/CD pipelinesExcellent communication skills (written and verbal).Experience working with Business Stakeholders.
