Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and proceduresWhat You’ll DoChampions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.Contribute to the assessment of sizing and complexity of User Stories and to the solutioning of those Stories. Develop User Stories to a high level of quality, including identifying error scenarios, the development of automated tests, and the review of code coverage and static code analysis reports. Ensure deliverables meet architectural and coding expectations, including leveraging modern language features and functional programming coding styles.Contribute to reviews of pull requests created by peers. Proactively monitor application environments with available tools, create awareness in the larger team of any observed issues, and contribute to resolving those issues.Proactively identify opportunities to drive modernization of technology and automation of processes, including offering ideas of solutions to these opportunities.Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. Support to learn iSeries based microservicesWhat You BringVery strong English communication skills, both oral and written.3 to 5+ years’ experience in a Java Developer role;2+ years’ experience with Java8 or higher2+ years’ experience with Spring Boot Expert level expereince with Postman, or REST, or SOAP API platformsMust have experience with RDMS preferably with SQL Server and DB2.
