OverviewThe Microsoft Development Center Serbia, with Offices in Belgrade, started with 1 employee and couple of vendors developing handwriting recognition technology. Today, our focus is much broader as we’re contributing in key areas for Microsoft globally, having 700 full time employees.Microsoft Azure powers hyper-scale cloud computing for internal services like Office 365 and Skype, as well as external mission-critical applications. Teams across Azure—including Azure Data, Networking, and Core Compute—develop scalable platforms supporting data warehousing, serverless analytics, virtual machines, and network telemetry. Flagship services like Azure Synapse Analytics and Microsoft Fabric enable massive-scale SQL queries, while global teams, including the Microsoft Development Center in Serbia, contribute to infrastructure reliability and performance.Microsoft is hiring Software Engineers to solve deep technical challenges and build systems at cloud scale. Engineers collaborate with global experts on telemetry, compute services, and infrastructure optimization. Contributes to the identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product area with little oversight. Creates and implements code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code as applicable. Contributes to efforts to break down larger work items into smaller work items and provides estimation. Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) working on-call to monitor system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions and gains approval to restore system/product/service for simple problems. Remains current in skills by investing time and effort into staying abreast of current developments that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale. QualificationsRequired/Minimum Qualifications (RQs/MQs)Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.At least 1 year of experience with distributed systems or microservices architecturesAdditional Or Preferred Qualifications (PQs)Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science OR related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, OR Python OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
