Solid Works – Sheet Metal Focus

About the RoleWe are seeking a CAD Designer to support our client Wabash, a leading manufacturer in the transportation and logistics industry. This role involves executing a variety of design tasks using CAD tools, primarily SolidWorks, to support Design Engineers. Responsibilities include preparing layouts, detailed drawings, assemblies, and diagrams, while collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, and Sales.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate 3D models and detailed drawings that meet customer and production requirements.Develop and maintain content for customer parts books.Review and apply company CAD and PLM standards to all design work.Collaborate with engineers to identify and recommend design solutions based on provided packages.Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., FMVSS, DOT, 3A Sanitary Code).Participate in hazmat training and apply safety standards as required.Conduct usability reviews of standard models and drawings prior to release.QualificationsAssociate degree in Mechanical Design; Bachelor’s degree is a plus.1–3 years of experience in CAD design, preferably using SolidWorks and PLM systems.Familiarity with ANSI and ASME drafting standards.Experience in sheet metal design and manufacturing environments.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP experience is a plus.Ability to complete CSWA certification; CSWP preferred.Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal).
