Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Quito for a Sous Chef at SOMOS Restaurant Ecuador. The Sous Chef will assist in managing kitchen operations and events, supervising staff, and ensuring the highest quality standards in food preparation and presentation. Responsibilities include collaborating with the Head Chef to develop new recipes, maintaining kitchen hygiene and safety, and managing inventory and supply orders. The Sous Chef will also play a key role in fostering a positive team environment and ensuring guest satisfaction through exceptional culinary experiences. Qualifications Strong culinary skills including food preparation, cooking, and plating techniques Experience in kitchen supervision, team management, and staff trainingKnowledge of food safety and sanitation practicesCreativity and ability to contribute to menu development and innovationExcellent organizational, time management, and communication skillsPrevious experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar leadership role in catering and events Knowledge of Ecuadorian cuisine is advantageous but not mandatoryCulinary degree or professional culinary certification preferred
