            Job DescriptionThe Asia Group is now accepting applications for an Associate or Senior Associate to join our growing Seoul office.The Asia Group (“TAG”) is a strategic and capital advisory firm that positions clients – ranging from Fortune 100 multinationals to innovative startups – for success in established and emerging markets across the Indo-Pacific region. Our diverse team possesses decades of government and private sector experience with a work ethos that emphasizes teamwork, collegiality, creativity, entrepreneurialism, and mentorship.The Asia Group’s Seoul office is seeking an experienced individual to support our thriving South Korea practice at either the Associate or Senior Associate level. This role will involve supporting our Seoul-based team by carrying out in-depth research, developing actionable insights, interfacing with clients, and producing client-ready updates and research memoranda.The ideal candidate(s) will have a deep understanding of the South Korea's political system and business landscape, as well as extensive experience engaging with stakeholders in both ecosystems. They will possess a strong ability to communicate in both English and Korean and will be able to provide clear, concise, and nuanced briefings and written product to TAG clients and leadership. Priority will be given to those applicants with demonstrated experience in government relations, private sectors and similar fields.Responsibilities IncludeSupport the development and expansion of TAG’s South Korea office and broader South Korea practice; Conduct timely and meticulous market, industry, political, and policy research and analysis, utilizing primary English and Korean-language resources; Produce written updates, assessments, and presentations (mostly in English) on matters which impact key client priorities, including political, economic, and regulatory developments;Monitor local print and online media for important developments related to client equities and opportunities for business development; Provide logistical, travel, and event support for client engagements, as well as support for partners and senior staff business travels; andWork with relevant business and corporate stakeholders – including relevant coalitions, chambers of commerce, and trade associations – to advance TAG’s business development initiatives;Support TAG Korea Office leadership with client servicing and office expansion initiatives.May perform other projects or special duties according to business needs.Required Experience And QualificationsStrong public affairs ethics, conducting all activities with honesty and integrity; At least three-to-five years' of relevant work experience, preferably including in a client-servicing industry;Outstanding research, writing, and analytical skills in English and Korean;At a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in public policy, economics, political science, international relations, or a relevant discipline, but ideally a master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline;Full professional fluency in Korean, including the ability to communicate professionally with clients and public figures;Can-do attitude and willingness to provide strong support on both critical client matters and administrative tasks;Flexibility with respect to working hours, particularly when coordinating with TAG colleagues based in Washington D.C., and catering to DC-based clients;Self-starter and ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple tight deadlines;Strong attention to detail;Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint;Team player with positive and professional attitude; and,Eager for professional development and open to learning new things.Preferred QualificationsOn-the-ground experience in South Korea and,Experience in government relations or private sectors.We value professionals who are proactive in exploring new ways to work smarter. Ideal candidates will be comfortable using artificial intelligence tools — or excited to learn how — to increase efficiency, enhance analysis or deliverables, and generate innovative solutions. Familiarity with generative AI platforms or a growth mindset toward emerging technologies is a plus.Candidates must be eligible to work in South Korea.
