Job Description

Join the Clean Energy RevolutionBecome an Engineer 1, Energy Efficiency (EE) at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this entry level engineer role, you'll be in the Custom QA/QC team of SCE's Operational QA/QC organization, under the Customer Programs & Services (CP&S) division providing technical support to SCE's EE programs. These programs have multi-million-dollar budgets and incentivize to adopt energy efficient measures or behaviors to deliver energy savings.

The Custom QA/QC team is responsible for the development, quantification, maintenance, and quality assurance of EE engineering data for custom projects that are used to support activities and measure achievements for SCE customer facing EE and Third Party programs. Primary FunctionsConducting technical reviews and updating key stakeholders on the progress, as well as assisting Custom QA/QC's senior engineers in various technical activities, some of which involve working with California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) staff and consultants.

Performing peer reviews for SCE's legacy and 3rd Party custom projects Developing the bi-monthly CPUC list and tracking the CPUC's ex ante review process as per SB1131Assisting with Energy Division (ED) selected projects and data requests for CPUC ex ante reviewManaging Custom Projects Review assignment to technical reviewers using iEnergy tools and documentationSupporting the maintenance of Customized Calculated Savings GuidelinesSupporting data compliance reporting needs based upon direction from the CPUC as well as other stakeholders (e. g.

California Technical Forum - CALTF, statewide reporting group, systems group, program staff, reporting staff)Supporting cost effectiveness tool (CET) evaluation process, review, and analysis for Third Party SolicitationProviding technical/engineering support to the EE programs and Contract ManagersAs an Engineer 1, your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone.

Are you ready to take on the challenge to help us build the future?ResponsibilitiesPrepares technical engineering evaluations and supports the inspections of equipment and operationsAssists in the review and applications of new technologies to improve quality of service to customersMaintains records and documentation on relevant engineering procedures and preventative/ demand maintenanceAssists with engineering projects using existing procedures to investigate, evaluate and assist in producing technically correct and cost-effective designs and solutionsSupports the document lifecycle within assigned projects according to defined organizational processesProvides operational support to improve customer satisfaction and reliability performance; monitors the trending of electrical system healthAssists with Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Apparent Cause Analysis (ACA), and miscellaneous investigations to troubleshoot problems, making changes to correct themObserves all safety policies during the execution of required tasks and ensures safety standards are met and safe working practices are adhered toA material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in a scientific/technical/math fieldExperience performing engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environmentsPossess a valid Class C Driver's LicensePreferred QualificationsFE (Fundamentals of Engineering) / EIT (Engineering in Training) certificationAdditional InformationThis position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

The work mode can be changed based on business needs. Position will require 5% of traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE territory.
