ABOUT THE ROLEAs a multidisciplinary creative studio, the scale and type of projects at Space Between frequently vary. Creatives at Space Between need to seamlessly transition between different scales and disciplines, embracing their interests and skills.

A mid Designer works across a wide range of project types including graphic, digital, spatial, experience, communications, prototyping, research, production and more. We are seeking a Mid Weight Designer with strong skills in digital, graphic and spatial design coupled with a passion for concept and art direction and an interest in culture and art. At Space Between, every team member participates in all facets of the studio, from creative direction to production.

A designer at Space Between is independent, a team player, a positive thinker, honest and genuine, has multiple interests, an excellent communicator, sees solutions not problems, has ambition, and is driven to improve. You will collaborate with the team to design across various domains, sometimes leading projects from inception to completion under the guidance of the Creative Director(s) and Design Manager. We expect you to be a team player, think holistically, and deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.

The Mid Designer position is full-time and in-house at Space Between’s Melbourne studio on Gertrude Street in Fitzroy.

DAY-TO-DAY YOU WILLConcept, design and deliver projects across print, digital, spatial and experience designWork effectively under direction from the senior design team and/or project leadCollaborate with the wider team on ideation, creative direction and design executionExecute high-quality, accurate finished art across digital and print formats, ensuring production readinessDevelop mockups and presentation decks (at speed) to communicate design intent and directionParticipate in internal reviews, contributing ideas and critical feedback across projectsManage/track time effectively across multiple projects, meeting deadlines and maintaining creative standardsSet up and maintain clear and organised files and adhere to studio systems (file structure, naming, etc.
