With opportunities for meaningful work, mentorship and long-term development, it’s a unique and rewarding place to grow.The team provides strategic advice to the Attorney-General and Queensland government agencies on constitutional issues, statutory interpretation and sensitive matters of public importance. Members of the team regularly instruct the Solicitor-General and the Crown Counsel in High Court proceedings.Recent work has included constitutional and human rights litigation in the High Court, the Queensland Court of Appeal and the Queensland Supreme Court, and advising on duties of excise and freedom of interstate trade and commerce. The team has also assisted agencies in responding to Parliamentary Committee requests, advised on the interaction of State and national energy laws the limits of executive power and proposed legislation.Your New TeamThis specialist legal team advises on matters at the heart of government decision-making—providing expert legal advice and representation across constitutional law, public and administrative law, human rights, statutory interpretation, and executive powers such as pardons and grants of fiat. Their work shapes the legal landscape of Queensland, supporting high-level decision-makers on issues of State significance.Your New RoleSupporting the Assistant Crown Solicitor and working closely with the Solicitor General, Crown Solicitor and Crown Counsel, you will work on complex and high profile matters including constitutional, public, administrative and human rights law.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver strategic, expert legal advice and representation, including in High Court matters.Build strong client relationships and act as a trusted adviser on complex issues.Support and mentor junior lawyers and contribute to team development.Stay current on legal and legislative developments.Manage legal matters to a high professional standard.Culture & BenefitsReflecting the rich diversity of Queensland, Crown Law brings together people from all backgrounds—First Nations, migrant communities and beyond.
