Position SummaryThe Business Development Specialist will work closely with the Business Development Senior Manager to provide dedicated support to the London office’s Restructuring practice, working on all aspects of business development, marketing, communications and eventsEssential Duties and Responsibilities Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Assist with preparing pitches, RFIs and RFPs, including research, coordinating collateral, and assembling materials using and sharing best practices from throughout the firm as appropriate. Assist in tracking results and preparing reports and analyses Assist with tracking relevant press and market developmentsSupport special projects such as overseas business development trips and client-development eventsCoordinate the scheduling and prepare draft submissions for various legal directories, awards and related industry guides Create, maintain and manage PowerPoint presentations and Word documents for partner pitches, placemats, internal communications and other marketing brochures and materials as requiredParticipate in keeping databases and credentials lists current for European business development Edit, update and maintain practice marketing materials, including practice descriptions, lawyer biographies, content for the website and draft new material as requiredAssist the Senior Manager with research using firm and online tools to help develop intelligence on prospective targets, industries, markets, etc. Assist with identifying speaking and sponsorship opportunities, coordinate and provide supporting research for speaking and sponsorship opportunities and manage local relationships with conference organisersAssisting the Senior Manager on the planning and execution of events in our offices and in global locations where events may occurParticipate in the production and presentation of client-development events, assist with analysing data resulting from such events and help provide summaries and recommendations to support business development plansCoordinate with New York marketing and business development teams in applying brand standards, using firm templates, preparing files for print productions, and performing press checksAssist the Senior Manager in the preparation of statistical data used in competitive analysis and charting of trendsWork closely with the business development teams in New York to provide seamless business development support to the European practiceQualifications/Position RequirementsAbility to manage a varied workload and meet deadlinesProactive, persistent, robust, commitment to ‘getting the job done’Excellent in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other applications (including Interaction) as neededStrong interpersonal skillsMust be able to work collaboratively with lawyers and staff, demonstrating strong teamwork and a positive attitudeExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail Ensure confidentiality of all the Firm’s and clients documentation and informationStrong work ethic and flexibility to meet the demands of the positionEducation and/or ExperienceRelated experience in business development and marketing (law firm background preferred)Bachelor’s degree
