Job SummaryThe Associate Surgical Asset Specialist is an entry-level role within the Operations team responsible for supporting the processing and management of surgical instrumentation used in the field. Under direct supervision, this position performs key functions such as receiving returned surgical sets, cleaning, sterilization, inventory reconciliation, data entry, material picking, and basic surgical set assembly. The role ensures that all tasks are completed in compliance with internal procedures and quality system requirements, contributing to surgical readiness and patient safety.

This is a hands-on, detail-focused role ideal for individuals starting their career in surgical operations or sterile processing.

Essential Functions· Receives and logs returned surgical assets from the field using internal tracking systems· Performs cleaning, basic inspection, and sterilization processes in accordance with company standards and infection control guidelines· Assists in assembling surgical sets based on predefined configurations and instructions from senior team members or management· Verifies set contents against inventory lists and replenishes components as needed, following quality system procedures· Applies appropriate labeling and prepares sets for shipment, ensuring traceability and readiness for surgical use· Performs data entry in ERP or asset tracking systems to record transactions, update inventory, and maintain accurate records· Picks materials and components for asset builds or refurbishment· Follows detailed work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and company safety standards· Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and internal requirements· Participates in ongoing training to maintain current knowledge of applicable procedures and quality policiesKnowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)· Basic understanding of surgical instruments and sterilization practices (training provided)· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with high attention to detail· Strong organizational and time management skills· Basic proficiency with computers and ability to learn internal inventory and tracking systems· Effective teamwork and communication skills· Willingness to work in a hands-on, fast-paced production environment· Capable of standing for extended periods and lifting surgical trays up to 50 lbs.

· Commitment to always adhering to safety and infection control proceduresEducation and Experience: · High school diploma or equivalent required· 0–1 year of relevant experience in a sterile processing, medical device, warehouse, or manufacturing environment preferred· Prior experience with surgical instrumentation, decontamination, or sterilization is a plus· Certification in sterile processing (e. g. , CRCST) is a plus, but not requiredTravelThis position generally does not require travel. There may be very rare circumstances where travel may be required but less than 10% of the time. The employee will be required to perform duties at a computer workstation on a computer and phone. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds to prepare specimens and surgical set for events.
