ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER (F&B and Supermarket Design)

Spinneys, the UAE’s leading premium food retailer, is looking for a creative and well-rounded team player to join our design team as an ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER. We are a fast-growing in-house supermarket and F&B design team overseeing the creative development of Spinneys and Waitrose Supermarket brands including The Kitchen by Spinneys, Spinneys, Spinneys Café, Spinneys Market and Waite and Rose Café’s.

POSITION SUMMARYThe ideal candidate will have strong 3D and rendering capabilities, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to apply their creativity and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, practical environment—particularly within supermarket and food & beverage spaces. ORGANIZATIONAL FITThis person reports directly to the HEAD OF DESIGN. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop store layouts for new builds and refurbishments, including Supermarkets, Grocerant and Market Store concepts, The Kitchen by Spinneys, and Spinneys Cafés. Prepare high-quality 3D visualisations and renders for presentations and internal/external approvals. Support site coordination efforts to ensure accurate execution of design intent.

Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and contractors to maintain brand standards and design integrity. Produce concept design packs and detailed drawings for landlord and authority submissions. Coordinate closely with consultants (particularly MEP) to ensure fully integrated design solutions. Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies for new locations. Remain up to date with materials, technologies, and design trends relevant to retail and F&B environments. Ensure designs comply with building codes, zoning regulations, and operational needs.
