Sr. Associate, Wind Project Engineer

Position SummaryThe table outlines the key responsibilities and associated outcomes for a wind energy engineer. This role encompasses a wide range of tasks, from initial site assessment and wind resource analysis to project development, construction, and ongoing operation. The overarching goal is to maximize the efficiency and profitability of wind energy projects while ensuring technical feasibility and compliance with industry standards.The engineer plays a crucial role in optimizing wind farm layouts, managing resources, and mitigating risks throughout the project lifecycle. They collaborate with various teams, including land acquisition, permitting, and construction, to ensure successful project implementation. Additionally, they contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and knowledge transfer within the organization.Key Responsibilities Wind resource assessments and wind farm layout design for wind farms Met mast and RSD location identification considering constraints, timing and layout issues Wind farm value engineering and commercial optimization Mast and RSD deployment, data analysis and management for development and operating projects Management of 3rd party advisors for wind energy engineering Site visits, terrain assessments, met mast and RSD inspections and supervision of installation Leading technical contracting discussions Prepare technical schedules for contracts Train and mentor new wind and site engineers Technical review of potential sites and leading feasibility reports (Onshore and Offshore) Provide input into developing standard best practice procedure Manage wind and site technical due diligence Advise and direct the land and permits team to assist in ensure land acquisition in compliance with energy assessments and layouts, rapid creation of multiple layout iterations take into account new constraints as uncovered Ensure all project development constraints are appropriately identified and mapped to aid layout development and optimization Ensure project information including land, surveys etc. is collated and referenced against consistent benchmarks Work closely with development, investment, construction teams etc. in order to ensure optimization of the projects from a techno-economic perspective. Performance analysis, energy budgeting and energy generation reconciliation analysis of operating wind farms Power curve verification test preparation, planning and management based on contractual arrangements.
