Job Description

For the expansion of the Procurement team located at our regional headquarter in Columbia/MD or our office in Coppell, TX, we’re looking for a Senior Buyer. This advanced position is playing an integral role in source identification, qualification, and selection of suppliers for direct and indirect materials, and services. The ideal candidate will have the potential to grow into a larger role as the department continues its expansion.Your tasksProcess purchasing requests into purchase orders, maintaining communication with suppliers and internal customers, from order placement to receipt, to ensure vendor quality and schedules are metExpedite orders where necessary and update ERP system to reflect order statusLocate new sources of supply and maintain good working relationships with vendors and manufacturersReview and set up new suppliersIdentify opportunities to reduce cost through negotiations and supplier selectionAnalyze and negotiate terms and conditions for one-time purchase orders or contracts for long-term supplier agreementsSupport and act as backup for other team members in their tasksMaintain and enhance operational procedures to increase efficiency and productivityPerform other duties as assigned by managerYour QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain/Procurement, Materials Management or Business and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience.A strong working knowledge with contracts, negotiations, and PO documentationExperience with SAPFamiliar with master data principlesStrong Microsoft Office software skillsExperience with purchasing multiple commodities and tasks involved in a fast-paced work environmentStrong interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environmentDetail oriented and organized, advanced analytical and good problem-solving skillsEffective analytical, oral and written communication skills for customer/vendor relations and interfacesThis position might require the use of information or access to hardware, which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level.
