LocationOur Sr Data Engineer will be an integral part of our Engineering teams in EMEA.This role is based remotely in EMEA in one of our legal entities:the UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Israel, Sweden, Estonia, or Spain. You'll be collaborating with product managers and developers from other teams and also participating in product-making decisions.ResponsibilitiesLead the analysis and optimization of big data warehouse performance and cost effectivenessCollaborate with engineering teams to improve data models and pipelinesDesign and implement tools for monitoring and diagnosing data system healthGuide best practices for table design, partitioning, clustering, and indexingContribute to platform code and infrastructure to support scalable analyticsQualifications5+ years of experience working with large-scale data systems in productionDeep knowledge of ClickHouse performance internals or any other big data platform.Proven expertise in query tuning, cost optimization, and storage designProficiency in SQL and familiarity with backend coding (e.g., Go, Python)Strong understanding of cloud infrastructureReal-life experience with real-time analyticsExcellent communication skills in English, both written and verbalSelf-organized, Goal-oriented, self-motivated individual who is confident, thorough and tenaciousAbility to effectively operate with flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environmentA great sense of humor and enjoys having fun at workBonus PointsBA/BS degree or equivalent practical experienceExperience with Google Cloud or AWS services from a production environmentAre you a Do’er?Be your truest self.
