Sr. Design Manager/ Design Manager (MEP) - Data Centre

A rapidly expanding leading developer and operator in digital infrastructure is looking for a Senior Design Manager to Design Manager (MEP) to lead the design, innovation, and technical optimization of next-generation data centers. This role is central to driving the company’s mission to deliver high-efficiency, sustainable, and future-ready digital infrastructure.Key Responsibilities- Design Leadership: Lead concept development and design of hyperscale data centres, including power distribution, high-density cooling, and control systems, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and global standards.- Technical Innovation: Research and evaluate new technologies and design methodologies to enhance infrastructure efficiency, sustainability, and operational resilience.- Performance Optimization: Develop and implement solutions to improve energy and water efficiency (PUE/WUE), optimize layout and MEP integration, and enhance overall performance.- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal delivery, operations, and facilities teams, as well as external consultants and vendors, to guide technical decision-making across project stages.- Compliance & Sustainability: Ensure all designs adhere to Tier standards, local regulations, and sustainability goals, incorporating renewable energy, waste heat recovery, and carbon reduction strategies.- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create design libraries, technical papers, and standard templates while maintaining rigorous documentation across all design and implementation phases.Key Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.- 8 years of experience in data center design, infrastructure engineering, or solutions architecture.- Proven track record in hyperscale or colocation environments.- Strong technical expertise in MEP systems, particularly in critical systems- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and Revit- Relevant certifications (CDCP, DCD, or Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer) are advantageous.If you’re interested in shaping the foundation of tomorrow's digital infrastructure, please 't hesitate to submit your CV to ayeung@space-exec.com or reach out directly for a confidential discussion.
