Job Description

Airswift is looking for a Sr. Geomechanics Engineer to work in a contractor position (12 months, with strong possibility of extension) in Mexico City for a major offshore oil and gas project.This role is key to supporting hydrocarbon resource development through advanced geomechanical studies. The Sr. Geomechanics Engineer will deliver innovative solutions in wellbore stability, pore-pressure modeling, sand production management, fractured reservoir characterization, hydraulic fracturing simulation, and time-lapse seismic imaging. The position focuses on optimizing drilling, completions, and reservoir engineering processes to maximize recovery and operational efficiency.Job ResponsibilitiesPerform sanding prediction for unconsolidated reservoirs.Lead geomechanics planning for data acquisition programs.Conduct hydraulic fracture simulations to assess conductivity loss.Execute and lead 1D drilling and completion geomechanics analysis.Generate drilling hazard analyses and risk mitigation strategies.Perform critical state fault analysis.Lead 3D geomechanical modeling to evaluate subsidence, compaction, and fault reactivation.Prepare technical presentations and reports.Ensure adherence to corporate HSEQ standards and data management protocols.Support real-time monitoring and decision-making during drilling operations.Assist with geomechanics lab studies and FIT/LOT testing.JOB QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Engineering or Geomechanics.Master’s or PhD in pore pressure prediction, fracture gradient, wellbore stability, or drilling preferred.Over 10 years of experience in the petroleum industry, with a focus on geomechanics studies related to wellbore stability, pore-pressure modeling, sand management, fractured reservoirs, hydraulic fracturing, and seismic imaging.Technical & Non-technical SkillsExpertise in pore pressure prediction, fractured reservoir characterization, hydraulic fracturing modeling, and 3D geomechanics.Strong reporting and data presentation skills.Proven leadership in multidisciplinary teams.Excellent written and verbal communication.Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement.Independent and team-oriented work style.Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.LANGUAGESFluent in English (written & spoken).Fluent in Spanish (written & spoken).About AirswiftAirswift serves as a strategic partner to our clients in STEM industries.
