About The RoleThe Senior Human Resources Manager at Johnson Thermal Systems plays a pivotal leadership role in shaping and executing workforce strategies during a period of significant growth and transformation. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong operational instincts who can seamlessly navigate between high-level planning and hands-on execution. The Senior HR Manager will collaborate closely with operational leaders to ensure cultural alignment, organizational effectiveness, and scalable people systems are in place to support business objectives.
As a key member of the HR leadership team, the role involves leading initiatives focused on reducing turnover, elevating employee engagement, developing leadership capabilities, and driving operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of empathy, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization. QualificationsThe ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or HR certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP are preferred.
Candidates should bring over 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least five years in a leadership role within manufacturing or industrial environments. A strong understanding of labor laws, employee relations, and HR best practices is essential. Proven ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization, from frontline workers to senior executives, is vital. Experience in organizational health initiatives, talent management, and working within rapid growth environments is highly desirable. Proficiency in HRIS systems, particularly Paylocity, and Microsoft Office Suite is required. Bilingual skills in Spanish are a plus, especially if relevant to the workforce.
ResponsibilitiesLead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of HR Business Partners and Generalists to deliver strategic HR services across the organization. Align HR initiatives with operational priorities and overall business goals to support sustainable growth. Serve as a trusted advisor to frontline supervisors and site leaders, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, and organizational development. Partner with leadership on workforce planning, job architecture, span of control, and organizational design initiatives to optimize efficiency and effectiveness. Design and implement retention and engagement strategies to address turnover challenges and workload management.
Champion programs that foster employee belonging, recognition, and continuous feedback to enhance the employee experience. Drive leadership development through coaching, performance feedback, and targeted training initiatives. Lead performance review cycles and strengthen employee listening strategies to ensure ongoing communication and improvement. Collaborate with other HR functions to ensure consistent messaging, policy enforcement, and process execution across the organization. Leverage workforce data analytics to identify risks, monitor trends, and inform strategic decision-making. Ensure HRIS data accuracy and partner with IT and business systems teams to generate actionable insights for leadership.
Support the rollout of career progression frameworks and internal mobility pathways to promote employee development.
