Our mission is to ensure that the platforms, systems and digital capabilities that power our global supply chain are reliable, scalable and future-ready.The Senior Manager, Solution Engineering will lead the design, deployment, and sustainment of Pfizer’s COMET (Siemens OpCenter Pharma Execution) and AMPS (Rockwell Pharma Suite) MES platforms across our manufacturing sites. This role will collaborate closely with Siemens and Rockwell, site automation, enterprise architecture and global Digital Manufacturing teams to architect, build and maintain a stable, validated on-premises MES environment that meets stringent GxP and performance standards.This leader will own the infrastructure architecture, installation, configuration and upgrade execution of these platforms – ensuring high availability, scalability and alignment with Pfizer’s enterprise standards.This colleague is self-motivated, able to take challenges and explores multiple solutions. You will be part of an exciting team that delivers best in industry solutions across Manufacturing.Role ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Manager, Solution Engineering colleague’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:Infrastructure & Architecture LeadershipLead the end-to-end design, build and validation of the COMET and AMPS on-premise infrastructure (servers, databases, network configuration, virtualization, storage, backup, monitoring, observability)Partner with global Pfizer architecture teams to ensure compliance with enterprise infrastructure, cybersecurity, and data protection standardsDefine system sizing, capacity planning, and performance monitoring strategies for the MES environmentDeployment & ExecutionLead site-level MES build deployments and cutover activities in collaboration with Siemens, Site Automation, and Global Manufacturing teamsOversee installation, environment setup, configuration, and qualification of all MES system componentsEnsure execution of relese upgrades, including regression testing, validation and business continuity planningOperational Excellence & Stakeholder EngagementEstablish robust monitoring and observability, alerting, and incident management processes to ensure system uptime and stabilityPartner with L4 supportm vendors and SRE teams to drive proactive problem management and root cause analysisDevelop a robust lifecycle management roadmap ensuring infrastructure is modernized and upgraded while avoiding business riskWork with product managers to create short and long term strategic roadmaps for Solution Engineering, leveraging best in class technology solutions. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers as required. Continuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities to enhance system performance, reduce downtime, and optimize deployment processesContribute to global MES infrastructure templates, playbooks and standardization initiativesMentor technical staff and develop site expertise in MES infrastructure and operationsBasic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or relevant experienceMinimum 7+ years of experience designing,deploying, and managing on-premises or hybrid MES or automation systems in a regulated environment Strong hands-on experience with infrastructure architecture, including Windows/Linux servers, databases, virtualization, networking, system monitoring and observabilityProven ability to lead complex software upgrades and manage multi-environment deploymentsExperience in GxP-compliant system design, validation and lifecycle managementUnderstanding of SAFe agile delivery, DevOps concepts, and ITIL-based service managementDemonstrated ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams including Automation, IT Infrastructure, QA, and vendorsExcellent communication skills; able to translate complex technical topics for diverse audiencesLeading Global Development and Support teams Experience working with cross-functional teams composed of both technical and non-technical membersExperience in managing Digital L4 support queues and adhering to defined SLAs (Service Level Agreements) Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiencesExperience in all stages of system and application lifecycle from value analysis, business case development, solution deployment through value realization and system retirementProblem solving within fast-paced and constantly changing environmentsAbility to work across multiple concurrent activities and in ambiguous situations while successfully adapting to changing priorities as requiredA thorough understanding of system GMP requirements and demonstrable knowledge of computer system design and maintenance lifecycle in GMP environments. Preferred QualificationsDirect experience with Siemens’ Opcenter Execution Pharma solution, Rockwell Pharma Suite solution or other MES solutionExperience integrating MES systems with automation layers and enterprise systemsExperience within a manufacturing settingExperience leading vendor-delivered implementation projects and coordinating across multiple time zones and stakeholdersExperience with Digital solutions within in a BioPharma companyPhysical/Mental RequirementsNoneNon-standard Work Schedule, Travel Or Environment RequirementsAbility to travel up to 20% and must be able to support weekend or night cutover and/or upgrade activities.
