We are on a mission to transition the global energy landscape towards a purely sustainable and emission free future.About The RoleWe are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to aid in the design, assembly, testing, and optimization of our system. Fourier engineers work in a hands-on, collaborative environment to solve problems and push progress forward. Qualified candidates should have prior hands-on experience working in a mechanical lab or industrial company.Roles and responsibilitiesDesign and build prototypes and product encasingCreate detailed design of mechanical structures and assemblies and work with appropriate manufacturersFacilitate selection of the optimal hardware components (sensors, pipes, valves, etc.) from external suppliersCreate and maintain Balance of Plant cost/Bill of MaterialsAssess failure modes that involve thermal/structural/electrical/chemical/fluid interactionsProblem solve and risk mitigationOversee the assembly and setup of benchtop test rigs, prototypes, and production unitsQualificationsRequired:B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent4+ years of relevant experienceHands-on experience assembling mechanical systemsExperience designing and building structures, from 3D CAD and/or 2D drawings through fabrication and assemblyExperience designing and developing cost-effective solutionsPreferred:Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D) in Mechanical Engineering or relevant fieldExperience in the following areas:Hands-on work with gas and/or water pipingFMEA (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis)Designing and analyzing energy systemsWorking with hydrogen or similar gasesMechatronicsDesigning enclosures for electromechanical systemsWhat we offerFully paid Medical, Dental, and Vision coverageCompetitive salary and equity compensation commensurate with experience401kDiverse and inclusive work environmentPaid sick days and vacation
