Guided by our values of integrity, respect, accountability and excellence, we use leading science and technology to move fiber-based packaging forward.The OpportunityThe AR Senior Manager is responsible for managing operations and transformation of our centralized Consumer A/R department.How You Will Impact Smurfit WestrockLeadership & Strategic OversightEffectively manage people, develop teams, and coach team members with a team-oriented approachFoster a strong customer service culture where continuous improvement is the foundation. Develop collaborative relationships with the functional teams supported to ensure the flow of customer feedbackFull understanding of I2C functionality and processes, including Credit, Billing, Collections, Cash Application, Dispute ManagementGuide and empower collections team for Consumer segment,Analyze complex A/R challenges, synthesize data from multiple sources, and apply sound judgment to resolve issues effectively,Address root causes by customer and/or business unit to prevent recurring problems, including optimizing credit limits,Establish and manage a structured escalation and tracking process for unresolved issues including billing, EDI team, and customer services,Communicate regularly and professionally with senior leadership, providing clear updates.Oversee the implementation of a new collections system.Collections Strategy & ExecutionDrive working capital improvements by reducing past-due balances and unapplied cash, ensuring consistent monthly results,Lead monthly governance sessions with GMs and plant teams to enforce accountability for aged receivables,Monitor collection reports daily/weekly to track outstanding balances and reduce DSO (Days Sales Outstanding),Collaborate with Finance VPs, Credit, and Sales teams to enforce collection policies and resolve issues swiftly,Maintain proactive communication with customers regarding payment status and concerns.Reporting & ControlsDeliver regular reports on consumer segment performance, cash collections, A/R aging, and other key indicators for monthly Controller and CFO AR presentation,Uphold strong internal controls to safeguard financial integrity in credit and collections,Support audit readiness and respond to internal and external audit inquiries.What You Need To SucceedBachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience15+ years prior experience working in AR, and within Order to Cash5+ years people leadership experienceStrong understanding of Order to Cash transaction lifecycle.
