Job Description

Reporting directly to the Chief Scientific Officer, we are seeking an experienced Senior Food Scientist who can develop innovative functional ingredient systems from concept to commercialization. This role will focus on research and development of innovative functional marinades along with continuous improvement of current products to meet customers’ evolving needs. In addition, this role will be a driver in a larger strategic company goal of developing innovative products and ingredients to improve yield and meat quality parameters across the meat and poultry industries. This individual will work with our cross-functional teams (sales, supply chain and finance) to determine solution-based needs for our customers. We are looking for an independent self-starter, who can work well across functional teams, and provide creative and innovative solutions for the meat and poultry industries.Responsibilities: Research and Development:Lead the development and improvement of functional ingredient solutions for meat and poultry products, ensuring they meet customer specifications while delivering on quality standards, costs and commercialization expectationsUphold best practices for bench top development, formulations, and lab standardsUnderstand and apply concepts of ingredient functionality in meat and poultry systemsProvide insight and technical input for innovative strategies to grow our businessProject Management:Promptness in delivering exceptional product quality with aggressive timelines.
