Job Description SummaryWe are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Kuopio, where you will design, develop, and maintain cutting‑edge software solutions that seamlessly integrate medical devices with clinical information systems in High Acuity Units. Unlock your ambition, turn ideas into world-changing realities, and join an organization where every voice makes a difference, and every difference builds a healthier world.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesBe responsible for defining, developing, and evolving device integration software within an agile team, translating medical device communication protocols into robust interfaces that enable seamless collection and integration of patient data into the Centricity High Acuity clinical information system.Apply principles of Software Development Life Cycle and methodologies like Agile/Lean/XP, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices and Testing Techniques.Develop and maintain software primarily using C++ in Windows systems.Design and implement low-level software components with a strong understanding of design patterns.Break down system designs into class and flow diagrams.Deliver high-quality code with comprehensive unit and automation tests.Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing software applications.Collaborating with global cross-functional teamsWhat we would like from youA diploma, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with demonstrated software development skills in C++ and substantial relevant experience.Experience of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Documentation Practices and methodologies like Agile and LEAN.Fluent oral and written communication skills in English.Desired CharacteristicsKnowledge of Quality Management Systems, Medical Device development and related processes Experience with version control systems, particularly GitlabKnowledge / Experience of HL7 for healthcare data exchangeKnowledge about Java, JavaScript, SQL, XML, database toolsKnowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.Demonstrated engineering curiosity, out-of-the-box thinking mindset, and problem-solving skillsWhat we offer to youA unique opportunity to work on leading edge health technologies and products.Work with nice and supportive colleagues and connect with professionals across different functions in global environment.Flexible working hours and a hybrid working model at our GE HealthCare office in Kuopio, Finland.Office located on Viestikatu, Kuopio, offering convenient on-site parking and a range of employee benefits, including employer-supported lunch program and sport & culture perks through ePassi.Private occupational healthcare services and comprehensive health insuranceInclusion and DiversityGE HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer where inclusion matters.
