Role overview for the IT Systems EngineerWe are seeking a bi-lingual (English & Arabic), talented IT Systems Engineer to be part of the team that is installing, commissioning and maintaining our surveillance and command and control systems in Kuwait. The role of IT Systems Engineer entails commissioning complex networked systems that vary from sophisticated marine surveillance systems to data and network server systems, and support systems such as building control systems. The successful IT Systems Engineer will likely have extensive experience working in a large commercial or industrial organisation setting up and managing their IT networked systems.

Responsibilities of the IT Systems EngineerConfiguration and deployment of networked servers, storage, network (hardware and related software packages) and other IT system support infrastructureCheck and validate installations, and provide reportsConfiguration and trouble shooting of different types of connectivity systemsMonitor system performance, undertake trouble shooting and resolution and implementation of software patches and hardware replacementsSupport and train customer internal IT departments and technicians to enable them to take operational ownership and responsibility of the systems we have supplied – day to day maintenance, issue identification and resolutionMaintain good document trails of system changes and updatesRequirements - IT Systems EngineerEnglish & Arabic bilingualA minimum of 5 years network IT system setup and management experience in either commercial or industrial environmentsDeep understanding of IT networks and server system configurations and set up – in particular Windows/Linux servers and networking (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN)Experience with virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) advantageousStrong understanding of IT security and data protection best practicesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent teamwork and communication abilitiesBenefitsExcellent payLong term career development opportunitiesBenefits package that includes private medical care
